Discover 29 New Cards from Magic's TMNT Expansion (Including a Commander-Style Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-eating superheroes are arriving to the popular trading card game. The popular trading card game's company, Wizards of the Coast, announced a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a exclusive panel held at NYCC. Could this be a exciting addition or yet another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you decide.

Check out here at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including key background. All items mentioned below launches on March 6, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before we get into the many unique products and collections on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by Wizards. Play boosters for the set are priced at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a couple of shell-shocking details. To begin, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu, in which players can cheat powerful creatures into the battlefield whenever an attacker isn’t blocked. The key change here is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures too. Wizards also took the opportunity to clean up the ability a bit (It is treated as casting, as opposed to the older mechanic). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are players will encounter Sneak in upcoming expansions moving forward.

Should we go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use the original ability since that's where it was developed and it is iconic to that,” a senior game designer explained. “However in other settings, because the mechanics are smoother and Sneak will be in standard, it's more likely that we'd use the updated version.”

Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four special cards with special art created exclusively for the set by TMNT co-creator the co-creator.

Oh, and, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing cards that aren't in your main deck, so was I. Yet according to Wizards, it’s now a official card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, below are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from the TMNT set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, all these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers state they were careful to ensure the cards and mechanics worked smoothly with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for 15 months and we knew it would be in standard and what other sets would be near it in standard,” a lead designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that they work well with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red strategy focused on artifacts.

“They mesh together to provide the components for a fun Standard deck,” he says.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it includes six distinct legendary cards who could work as your Commander based on how you combine them (five cards have a special partner ability named “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command area rather than just one). Check them out below:

The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, though the price may rise based on popularity. Sources indicated that it contains 43 brand-new cards in total, which translates to an extra 37 Turtle-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprints if we assume the precon comes with 37 land cards.)

How will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, Wizards is offering a bundle. This one is priced at $69.99 and contains the following:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • 15 Traditional foil land cards
  • 15 Regular land cards
  • Two helper cards
  • One Foil promo card
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • 1 Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, primarily because it comes in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Each Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • One Collector Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • Five Foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Large life tracker
  • One storage box

For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card with brand-new Turtle-themed art. The team revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting Splinter sprinkling toppings on a pizza slice. In total, there are six different pizza promos available.

This special bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is made for a four-player draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • 12 Standard Boosters (the perfect amount four people to draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (also known as, the reward for winning)
  • Ninety Regular land cards (to build your draft deck)
  • Ten Non-foil double-sided tokens
  • One drafting guide (a one-sheet guide to drafting the set)

Cooperative Play Set

Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to develop Magic products aimed at beginners. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of decks that let you and a friend join forces against a “Boss” deck that plays automatically.

The general idea here that each Boss card grants unique powers to the creatures included in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
