More than two weeks following the shocking loss of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the pair.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Sharing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he finally felt ready to share openly about his profound loss.

"Enough time has elapsed that I can now put my grief into words," posted Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced passing more hours together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor posted archival material from the movie, adding that he cannot recall "a single day without joy".

"The movie is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob valued immensely. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to guide it," Elwes continued.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Fellow Artist

In a separate piece, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the lead role.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Sealed

In a new development, a Los Angeles court official ruled to bar the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A judicial mandate put a embargo on the cases to restrict the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" pertaining to the active case.

The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the result of murder, with a public database noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Response and Criticism

Following the deaths, public figures expressed varying reactions.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, providing divisive remarks that were broadly criticized by many individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his criticism to the critics recently. Speaking on his show, Rogan described the remarks as "disturbing" and remarked they showed a concerning deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan ended by remarking that an associate could have stepped in when the decision to speak on the tragedy was made.
