Ten individuals convicted of digital abuse against Brigitte Macron

A Paris court has ruled against ten people for perpetrating the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the spouse of French President, Emmanuel Macron.
The those on trial faced allegations of disseminating false claims regarding her gender identity and sexual orientation, in addition to making hurtful comments about the pair's age disparity of 24 years.
The court issued suspended jail terms of up to eight months to the defendants. The detailed judgment has still to be made public.
A longstanding false narrative alleging that Brigitte Macron is a trans woman has spread widely since her husband's first electoral victory in 2017.
This Monday's court decision in France is concurrent with the Macrons initiating a libel case in the United States against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has repeatedly shared comparable unfounded claims about the Brigitte Macron's biological sex.
Their complaint states that Owens ignored substantial counter-evidence disproving her claim in favour of give a platform to established defamers.
Owens has regularly repeated these allegations on her show and social networks, and in March 2024 declared that she would bet her whole career on her insistence that Mrs. Macron was born a man.
Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her now-husband when she taught at his secondary school.
The pair married in 2007, when the then-29-year-old Emmanuel Macron was 29 and she was approximately 54 years old.
