A person who spiked candy with tranquilliser and provided them to minors at a youth camp in the region has admitted sexual offenses against two young males who were nine and ten years old.
The accused was detained after eight minors and a grown-up experienced illness at Stathern Lodge in mid-summer.
The senior citizen, from that region, confessed to a total of 17 charges when he appeared at Leicester Crown Court on the end of the week.
Nevertheless, he denied a single sexual charge he was accused of, which was against a young boy.
The defendant was kept in jail prior to a additional proceeding on November 28th.
'Sweet game'
The legal representative, prosecuting, detailed the criminal behavior to the legal proceedings.
She explained his those affected were under-privileged children who were staying at a summer program which he ran.
The man engaged in a "candy game" with the children, Mrs Prior said, in which he would go into the boys' rooms when they were preparing to sleep and tell them to ingest treats "as quickly as they can".
She told the court the defendant had played this game with the boys "for many years", and minors had earlier experienced illness the subsequent day.
She explained the defendant had been capable of justifying this for many years as the minors being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his stepchild had concerns in recently.
The prosecutor continued: "In the summer" his stepchild had concerns about the situation, justifiably.
"They resolved" to have a look in the individual's items."
Mrs Prior KC explained items including lubricant, petroleum jelly and syringes were found, and his stepson notified the authorities about his concerns.
She stated the man proceeded to play the "sweet game" with six youngsters that night - Saturday 26 July - and they were all sick the next day.
"Authorities" had not arrived by that stage," she added.
The regulatory agency, the investigative body, earlier informed that it was reviewing Leicestershire Police's handling of the situation.
Mrs Prior said the children were unable to walk properly due to being ill, so the stepson notified the police again.
She said Ruben then engaged in the "treat game" in a room of five youngsters.
